THE TREK IN BRIEF 2 days of walking 1 night under the stars 2000 metres of positive height difference 2000 metres of negative height difference Minimum altitude: Palafavera, 1500 m Maximum altitude: Forcella Van de le Sasse, 2467 m Starting and arrival point: Palafavera Difficulty: EE WHY DO THIS TREK The Civetta rises majestically above the Alleghe lake and the Cordevole valley, with its 1000 and more metres of vertical rock. Between the valley and the side lies the Val Civetta: a gentle, verdant basin, full of flowers and mugo trees. The opposite side of the Civetta is gentler, but still spectacular. Uniting these two sides of the mountain is on one side the beautiful Coldai Lake, a sparkling pearl beneath the great wall, and on the other the Van de le Sasse, a steep fork that takes the hiker into the bowels of the mountain. On this two-day trek we will walk a loop around this famous mountain, past rocks, scree, meadows and small lakes. We will spend the night under the stars, to experience a complete adventure amidst the beauty of the dolomite. DIFFICULTIES Trekking reserved for experienced hikers, without vertigo, used to long walks and exposed sections. We will face an altitude difference of 1000 metres on both days, and we will have to pass very exposed and sometimes slippery sections. If you are already experienced in hiking but have never tried the experience of sleeping outdoors, this is the right trek for you!
